Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Regional Construction Manager based within the United Utilities Region and working site based across the United Utilities framework.

You will report directly to the Head of Construction, leading and advising the site teams on all construction matters. Provide skilled resources for each project and support the Operations Manager/Project Managers to meet SHEQ, construction programme, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discipline Lead for all Civils, Mechanical, and FRC/Temporary Works across the region.
  • Allocate senior site staff to ensure adequate resourcing and efficient management.
  • Assess individual performance, provide guidance, or enforce disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Advise & guide Temporary Works Coordinators (if qualified).
  • Embed the IFE programme within the region.
  • Review and update Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies/Procedures.
  • Contribute to pre-construction and tender assessments.
  • Maintain positive PR and company image through effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Lead visibly across sites, enforcing standards and safety.
  • Apply detailed knowledge in areas like Asbestos Management, Construction Techniques, Lifting, Temporary Works, Excavations, and Process Safety to advise project staff.
  • Engage with other regions to share information and innovations.
  • Challenge and improve productivity and programme durations during site visits.
  • Manage multiple complex projects, adapting to scope changes and policies.
  • Standardise practices across the region in safety, quality, time, and cost.

  • Client passport (if required)

  • First Aid at Work (3 days)
