Job summary

Severn Trent plc is seeking a Regional Community Communications Officer on a 12-month fixed-term basis, based at the Derby - Raynesway Office with frequent regional travel. The role focuses on engaging communities, shaping communications around major works, and building trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders.

You’ll work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, in a collaborative, flexible environment that supports office, site, and home-based activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience in communications, engagement, customer service, stakeholder management or a related discipline.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Confident using Word, Excel, Asana and Power BI.
• Ability to analyse information and identify risks and opportunities.
• Ability to influence and challenge constructively; manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Keep communities informed about the works and their importance to services.
• Build positive relationships with customers, local businesses and councillors.
• Deliver a catered, personalised communications experience for communities.
• Travel across the patch frequently; coordinate comms before, during and after works.
