Job summary

Red Snapper Recruitment LTD is seeking compassionate Domestic Abuse Practitioners to join a refuge-based support service in Leicester. These part-time positions empower women and families to rebuild their lives in a safe environment, with duties spanning practical, emotional and advocacy support.

You will assess referrals, manage admission, conduct risk and needs assessments, and develop tailored support plans, while collaborating with housing, healthcare and legal services.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults, women, children or families.
• Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and families.
• Experience of providing support, advocacy or case management.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals and support admission into refuge accommodation.
• Complete risk and needs assessments and develop tailored support plans.
• Provide one-to-one practical and emotional support to residents.
• Support residents with housing, benefits, legal matters, healthcare, education and employment opportunities.
• Advocate on behalf of residents and liaise with external agencies.
• Support residents to develop independent living skills and prepare for move-on accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records, case notes and monitoring information.
• Participate in safeguarding processes and multi-agency working.
• Help maintain a safe, secure and supportive refuge environment.
• Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the refuge and wider service.
