Job summary

Red Snapper Recruitment Group is seeking compassionate Domestic Abuse Practitioners to join our refuge-based support service in Leicester. These part-time roles provide practical, emotional and advocacy support to residents living in refuge accommodation, helping women and families to rebuild their lives in a safe, empowering environment.

Positions offer flexible hours across weekends and weekdays, with shifts designed to fit personal commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults, women, children or families.
• Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and families.
• Experience of providing support, advocacy or case management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively under pressure.
• Good IT, administrative and record-keeping skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals and support the admission process into refuge accommodation.
• Complete risk and needs assessments and develop tailored support plans.
• Provide one-to-one practical and emotional support to women and families affected by domestic abuse.
• Support service users with housing, benefits, legal matters, healthcare, education and employment opportunities.
• Advocate on behalf of residents and liaise with external agencies including housing providers, social care, healthcare professionals and legal services.
• Support residents to develop independent living skills and prepare for move-on accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records, case notes and monitoring information.
• Participate in safeguarding processes and multi-agency working.
• Help maintain a safe, secure and supportive refuge environment.
• Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the refuge and wider service.

Domestic Abuse Practitioner (Part-Time)

Location: Leicester. Contract: Permanent. Work Base: Office and Refuge Based. Positions Available: 3 Part-Time Positions.

Working Patterns & Salaries

• Position 1 - Sunday to Wednesday - Hours: 20 hours per week - Working Pattern: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - Hours: 8:30am - 1:30pm - Salary: £13,624 per annum
• Position 2 - Monday to Friday - Hours: 25 hours per week - Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - Hours: 9:00am - 2:00pm - Salary: £17,030 per annum
• Position 3 - Monday to Friday - Hours: 25 hours per week - Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - Hours: 12:30pm - 5:30pm - Salary: £17,030 per annum

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domestic Abuse Practitioners to join our refuge-based support service in Leicester. As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will provide practical, emotional and advocacy support to residents living within refuge accommodation, helping them to achieve positive outcomes and move towards independence.

About You

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and have experience working within domestic abuse, housing, safeguarding, social care or support services.

Essential Requirements
