Refrigeration Engineer / Site-based Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: up to GBP 40k (negotiable depending on experience) + generous benefits including overtime and pension

Our client is a global leader in providing high-quality niche sector infrastructure solutions worldwide. Established for over 30 years, they are experiencing continued success and strategic growth for 2024. They are seeking a proactive and experienced Site-based Refrigeration Engineer to join their technical support division.

The successful candidate will primarily be based at the Cheltenham facility, with occasional projects at nearby facilities and national travel for site installations. A full UK driving license is essential.

Core Responsibilities

1. Undertake planned preventative maintenance and commissioning of refrigeration equipment, and perform reactive fault finding and repairs efficiently.
2. Develop comprehensive knowledge of refrigeration equipment and conduct safety checks to ensure equipment safety and compliance.
3. Identify and resolve technical issues, diagnose faults, order parts, and complete documentation for maintenance and traceability.
4. Conduct inspections and prepare reports, ensuring commissioning meets standards and safety regulations.
5. Support Technical Support and Projects Departments with maintenance, repairs, and installations.

Candidate Requirements

• F-Gas qualifications are essential.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in refrigeration and catering equipment environments.
• Proven electrical skills and experience.
• Additional experience in testing and repairing electrical catering equipment, basic plumbing, commercial warewashing, and gas work is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
