Job summary

Gist is seeking an experienced Recruitment Manager to lead our high-volume driver and warehouse recruitment across the UK on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). Based in Basingstoke with hybrid working, you will build and coach a team of recruitment professionals while partnering with operations and People teams to keep hiring plans on track.

You’ll analyse recruitment data, develop attraction strategies, manage senior vacancies, and ensure a fair, compliant candidate journey.

Qualifications

• In-house recruitment experience
• Experience leading a recruitment team
• Experience delivering high-volume recruitment in logistics/retail/manufacturing
• Understanding attraction strategies and routes to market for difficult vacancies
• Experience managing recruitment against headcount plans and targets
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive action
• Hands-on approach balancing team leadership and direct recruitment

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of recruitment professionals responsible predominantly for high-volume Driver and Warehouse recruitment across the UK
• Own recruitment delivery against operational headcount requirements and act on priorities and gaps
• Partner with operational leaders and People teams to understand current and upcoming requirements
• Lead recruitment activity during peak demand ensuring attraction, assessment and onboarding are coordinated
• Use recruitment data and MI to track performance and provide updates on vacancies and headcount gaps
• Develop attraction strategies and oversee channels including job boards, direct sourcing and campaigns
• Champion direct sourcing and build candidate pipelines alongside inbound attraction
• Improve the candidate journey from application to onboarding in collaboration with sites
• Build relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders, providing recruitment expertise and market insight
• personally manage a portfolio of graded and specialist vacancies alongside volume recruitment
• Support development and effective use of ATS and recruitment processes
• Ensure compliant, fair and inclusive candidate experience
• Look for opportunities to improve processes and service delivery
