Job summary

Places for People is seeking a friendly Recreation Assistant to help run community leisure centres in our network. You will support health and safety, set up activity areas, and ensure equipment is stored securely while sessions run.

The role offers flexible working options, including part-time shifts, and opportunities for personal development. You will collaborate with the Duty Manager and deliver great customer service to our customers.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience providing first aid when required.
• Experience in cleaning duties and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health and Safety at the centre at all times.
• Carry out cleaning duties and prepare activity areas for planned sessions.
• Ensure all equipment is stored safely when not in use.
• Work alongside the Duty Manager and report any matters of concern.
• Carry out patrols as required.

More about your role

As a Recreation Assistant it will be your responsibility to maintain the Health and Safety of the centre at all times including carrying out cleaning duties and preparing activity areas for all planned sessions. You will make sure all of the Centres equipment is stored in a safe and secure way when not being used. You will work alongside the Duty Manager and report any matters of concern and carry out patrols.

More about you

The successful applicant will have a friendly, approachable manner and deliver excellent customer service to our customers. You will assist with first aid when required so ideally have some experience. You will ideally have worked within a similar role. Experience carrying out some cleaning duties and maintaining equipment would set you apart from other candidates.
