Job summary

Change Grow Live in Newham is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Recovery Worker to support individuals with substance use challenges in the community. You’ll work across three hubs, building trust from first contact, guiding assessments and onward referrals, and delivering tailored support.

This role emphasizes listening, flexibility, and empowerment, including delivering workshops, promoting independence, reducing harm, and advocating for access to essential services to help people rebuild

Qualifications

• Lived Experience or understanding of substance use challenges.
• A desire to lead and inspire, and to learn group facilitation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and professionalism.
• Proactive and eager to learn, able to manage time effectively.
• Awareness of mental health and recovery, with willingness to expand knowledge.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with individuals from first contact, guide assessments and onward referrals.
• Deliver workshops and group sessions on topics like managing emotions and sleep, tailoring to needs.
• Promote growth, resilience, peer connections, and self-determination for meaningful lives.
• Reduce harm and support community reintegration for those facing substance use challenges.
• Advocate for access to services and resources, removing barriers for service users.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate group activities that are creative and impactful.
