Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Recovery Worker to join our Newham service. You will work across three hubs and in the community, partnering with agencies to support individuals facing substance use challenges, including those with homelessness or language needs.

You will deliver workshops, guide recovery journeys, build trust from first contact, and advocate for access to services while maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of recovery or understanding substance use.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to build trust with individuals and communities.
• Empathy and a person-centred approach to support.
• Teamwork and collaboration with partners and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy service environment.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in navigating their recovery journey through assessments, planning, and referrals.
• Deliver workshops and group sessions on topics like managing emotions and healthy relationships.
• Build trust from first contact and provide ongoing support and advocacy to access services.
• Promote independence, resilience and peer connections among service users.
• Reduce harm and help individuals reconnect with their communities.
• Design, deliver and evaluate group activities tailored to those supported.
