Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Recovery Coordinator to join our team in Tameside. You will assess and engage service users, plan recovery pathways, and coordinate referrals to ensure timely access to interventions.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week) on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will work within alcohol or opiate services, promote user involvement, and support social reintegration while upholding information governance and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in substance misuse or similar field.
• Experience with group work and managing group dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and IT proficiency.
• Proactive with strong time management and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of mental health interventions and working with partners.

Responsibilities

• Supporting service users from entry into the service through their treatment/recovery journey.
• Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning and onward referral.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.
• Working with service users to support social reintegration and peer support.
• Research, design and prepare materials for groups/pods.
• Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery.
• Debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods; reviewing progress and concerns.
• Tailor workshops around service user needs (anger management, sleep disorders, relationships).
