Job summary

Hough Green Garage Ltd in Stafford is hiring 7.5t, HGV1 and HGV2 Recovery Drivers. This permanent role offers 12-hour shifts on a 4 on / 2 off cycle, with day and night options and weekly pay.

You will attend breakdowns and accidents across our operation area, safely recover and transport vehicles, and complete vehicle checks using a PDA system. To apply you need a full UK driving licence, DCPC and Digital Tachograph card, proven driving experience, and a customer‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• DCPC and Digital Tachograph card required.
• Proven driving experience; recovery experience desirable.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently.
• Clean record and ability to pass police vetting.
• Good local geographical knowledge.
• Basic mechanical understanding preferred.
• Flexible approach to working hours.

Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns and accident scenes across the operational area.
• Safely recover and transport vehicles from motorways and major routes.
• Complete vehicle checks and maintain a tidy vehicle/yard.
• Ensure all jobs are completed using company PDA systems.
• Assist with moving vehicles within the depot as required.
