Job summary

Recovery Connections in Redcar & South Tees invites applications for a Community Lead to inspire and develop recovery communities across the area. You will lead a team of Community Coaches, Ambassadors, Volunteers and Trainees to deliver person-centred, lived-experience led initiatives.

The role focuses on strengthening partnerships with local organisations, growing peer-led groups, and expanding recovery activities.

Qualifications

Understanding of recovery, addiction and barriers to recovery.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
Understanding Asset Based Community Development principles.
Knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Understanding safeguarding, risk management and health and safety.
Understanding of performance monitoring and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and strengthen recovery communities across Redcar & South Tees.
Support the creation and sustainability of peer-led groups, clubs, projects and initiatives.
Promote and increase engagement with mutual aid and recovery support networks.
Facilitate recovery-focused groups, activities and community events.
Work alongside people accessing support to identify strengths, aspirations and opportunities.
Support individuals to access local community assets, education, volunteering and employment opportunities.
Encourage independence and reduce long-term reliance on services through strengths-based approaches.
