We are looking for a full-time receptionist to join our large, friendly GP Surgery.
You will be required to work occasional Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
You will handle telephone calls in a positive and efficient manner; assist with front desk duties and general administration. Reception and Customer Service experience preferred.
This is a full-time role for 36 hours per week.
As part of a team, to cover receptionist duties on a rota basis in a professional, confidential, and caring manner to provide maximum levels of patient care and promote the surgery positively.
To contribute to the smooth and efficient running of reception, undertaking all tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
South Street Surgery operates from three premises in Bishops Stortford: South Street Surgery, Bishop's Park Health Centre, and Herts and Essex Hospital, providing services for about 23,500 patients. We work closely with other local practices in Stort Valley and Villages PCN to develop our vision for the future of Primary Care Services in this area.
Bishops Stortford is a thriving town with excellent schools and facilities. We are in easy reach of London and Cambridge.
Responsibilities
Provide the maximum level of patient service.
Ensure patients are dealt with whilst employing the maximum level of confidentiality and understanding.
Maintain a high standard of work under pressure.
Deal with all aspects of work with the utmost discretion and observe the strictest confidentiality.
Answer telephone lines promptly and professionally, taking and passing on accurate messages by task or email as appropriate. At the request of the GPs, return telephone calls on their behalf.
Deal with members of the public and other visitors to the surgery, forwarding any complaints and patient feedback to the relevant person in the first instance.
Accurately input data onto the system, including basic scanning of documents.
Answer inquiries face-to-face, by telephone, and via the website dashboard, e.g., changes of address, prescription requests, providing general information.
Receive and instruct new patients.
Issue prescriptions and deal with inquiries as per Practice protocol.
