The Junior School at King Henry’s is an amazing place to work, and the receptionist position is right at the centre of everything we do. It is very much the heartbeat of school, and our receptionist is in many ways the face of the Junior School. We have the most wonderful children who are polite, kind, fun and engaging; they in turn have very supportive parents who work with us to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children; finally, our colleagues are inspiring, friendly, and welcoming. It’s a stimulating and rewarding environment where every day is different, and you don’t just feel as though you’re making a difference; you are making a difference.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and approachable Receptionist/Administrator to join out Junior School administration team.

The successful candidate will provide a high-quality reception and administrative service, ensuring that pupils, parents visitors and staff receive a friendly, professional and helpful service. The role will include welcoming visitors, managing the reception area, dealing with telephone and email enquiries, maintaining pupil records, supporting attendance processes and managing the signing in and out of pupils and visitors.

You will also provide general administrative support across the school, including managing post and deliveries, maintaining records, producing newsletters and other school communication, supporting meetings and school events, ordering stationery and supplies and providing administrative support to staff as required.

The role also includes supporting the school’s medical provision under the supervision of the School Nurse. This will also involve undertaking appropriate first aid and specialist training, administering basic first aid, maintain accurate medical records and supporting the administration of medication in accordance with school procedures and relevant care plans.

Experience of working in an office / administration environment is essential and school-based experience would be highly desirable although full training will be provided. Excellent communication skills with a calm professional and personable manner are essential as is the ability to relate to all staff and pupils within the school environment. You will be computer literate and be confident to work on your own and make decisions and show initiative in line with established processes and policies. You will be able to plan and organise your own work and cope with interruptions and changing priorities.
