Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a friendly receptionist to join our team at the hospital site. The successful candidate will greet patients and visitors, handle enquiries, and provide high-quality clerical support in line with Trust guidelines and policies.

You will process patient documentation, log information in IT systems, and act as the first point of contact, helping to deliver a safe, patient-centered service across departments. Previous front-desk experience is advantageous.

  • Undertake administrative and clerical duties as requested.
  • Produce ID badges for staff and issue Access Cards.

Job description

Job Summary

We are looking to add to our team of receptionists, whose role is to be the first friendly face to greet our patients and visitors to our hospital site. The successful applicant will provide a high standard of clerical/reception service to patients and the hospital, adhering to Trust guidelines and policies. The post holder will receive and check documentation, reports, patient information, processing each one appropriately and within Trust guidelines. So, you’ll need to be great at entering information into IT systems, to help us log and retrieve information as and when required. In this role, you’ll need to process patient documentation be the first point of contact for patients and other visitors to the hospital, provide an administrative and clerical service to our department/team and support the delivery of a high standard of service to patients, staff and Trust departments.

What You Will Bring To The Role

This role provides the following services to the Trust:

  • Meet and greet as the first port of call as patients and visitors enter our hospitals.
  • Taking telephone queries and offering the appropriate advice or redirecting to the appropriate department/person.
  • Provide directions based on the information available.
  • Utilising patient information databases to best support patients and visitors.
  • Support patients and visitors with any issues they may experience in relation to their visit which may cause anxiety, this may be by resolving the issue personally, providing information, or directing them to the most appropriate department/person.
  • Undertaking administrative and clerical duties as requested.
  • Production of ID Badges for staff and the issuing of Access Cards.
