Senior Practice Manager Civil at Guildhall Chambers

Guildhall Chambers is a preeminent, multi-disciplinary set of barristers chambers based in Bristol, operating throughout England & Wales. There are over 80 barristers in Chambers, working in some fourteen areas of practice in civil and criminal law, supported by 25 staff.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, friendly, and efficient receptionist for our busy offices in Broad Street, Bristol. The role involves receiving visitors, handling phone calls, managing conference rooms, and supporting barristers and staff. This front-of-house position requires a welcoming personality, attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. The successful candidate will interact with everyone in Chambers, maintaining confidentiality and working collaboratively.

This is a permanent, full-time role with standard hours from 8.40am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The salary range is £23,000 to £26,000, depending on experience.

Requirements include:

  • British or Irish citizenship or legal right to work in the UK
  • At least five GCSEs (including maths and English) at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Two A Levels or Scottish Highers or equivalent qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook
