Job summary

Step Teachers is assisting a Church of England primary academy in Thetford, seeking a Reception / Year 1 Teacher for a long-term, full-time role starting September 2026.

Deliver engaging lessons across EYFS to KS1, support children’s transition from early years into Key Stage 1, and foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

You will plan creative activities, assess pupil progress, work with colleagues and parents, and uphold safeguarding standards while delivering high-quality learning.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching within EYFS and/or Key Stage 1.
• Strong understanding of child development and early learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons across Reception and Year 1.
• Support pupils' transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.
• Create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Plan and deliver creative learning experiences in line with the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
• Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress.
• Foster children's social, emotional, and academic development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents.
