Job summary

Wotton House in the Surrey countryside is seeking a Reception Supervisor to lead the Reception team and deliver warm, memorable experiences from arrival to departure. You will oversee daily operations, check-ins/check-outs, and guest inquiries while maintaining high standards with personality.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality experience is essential, ideally within a hotel Reception or Front Office environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience would be an advantage, but we’re equally interested in individuals who are ready to take the next step in their hospitality career.
• You’ll understand the importance of creating memorable guest experiences while ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
• You’ll have excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a busy hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the day-to-day operation of Reception, ensuring smooth and efficient shifts.
• Leading, motivating and supporting the Reception team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Welcoming guests and overseeing seamless check-ins and check-outs.
• Handling guest enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally, finding positive solutions.
• Supporting with team training, development and maintaining service standards.
• Ensuring reservations, payments, billing and Reception administration are completed accurately.
• Managing shift handovers and ensuring clear communication across the team.
• Working closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Supporting the Reception Manager with daily operations, team performance and continuous improvements.
• Leading by example and bringing our Wonderfully Wotton personality and service standards to every interaction.
