Job summary

Moore Teachers Ltd is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class at a primary school in Cuffley, on a long-term basis. The role suits experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants or Early Years Practitioners who are passionate about helping young children develop confidence and a love of learning.

You will work with the class teacher to support phonics, literacy and numeracy activities, helping pupils progress in a warm, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, nursery or educational setting.
• Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is advantageous.
• A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in a Reception classroom.
• Work with pupils one-to-one, in small groups and with the whole class.
• Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy and play-based activities.
• Promote children's social, emotional and academic development.
• Create a positive, engaging and nurturing classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and school staff to support pupil progress.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about helping young children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning during the crucial early stages of their education.

The Role

• Supporting teaching and learning within a Reception classroom.
• Working with pupils on a one-to-one, small-group and whole-class basis.
• Assisting with phonics, literacy, numeracy and play-based learning activities.
• Promoting children's social, emotional and academic development.
• Helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing classroom environment.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to support pupil progress.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery or educational setting.
• An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) would be advantageous.
• A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable. If you do not currently hold a DBS, one can be arranged subject to the necessary checks.
