Job summary

The Grand Hotel Birmingham is seeking a Reception Supervisor to support the Front Office Manager in daily operations, ensuring every guest is warmly welcomed, valued and cared for from arrival to departure. You will lead the Reception team, provide training, handle Duty Manager shifts, and coordinate with other departments to deliver the hotel's renowned personal service.

40 hours per week, early and late shifts, weekends on rota.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in hotel reception or front desk.
• Ability to lead a team in a busy hotel.
• Good IT skills; Opera PMS experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of Reception, ensuring a warm, professional welcome and smooth arrival/departure for guests.
• Train and motivate the Reception team to deliver consistently high service standards.
• Take responsibility for Duty Manager shifts and provide operational support across the hotel.
• Manage guest requests and feedback, including VIP, corporate and entertainment arrivals.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the hotel to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable stay.
