Job summary

CHEP UK Ltd. seeks a Development Architect to design and implement major parts of the software architecture for the Digital team. You’ll focus on real-time IoT tracking systems, collaborating with architects, engineers, product managers and QA to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions.

You will mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and drive architectural decisions across ERP and cloud integrations. Hybrid work in Manchester supports flexible delivery and uptime goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development and architecture experience.
• Hands-on with multiple languages and enterprise systems.
• Experience owning major modules deployed to customers and going live.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and implement major parts of software architecture for real-time IoT tracking systems.
• Develop scalable, high-performance software meeting enterprise needs.
• Create robust, maintainable architectures and data models.
• Lead code reviews, collaborate with product, QA, and design teams.
• Build integrations with ERP and cloud-based systems for data exchange.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers.
