Philosophy Education, Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Redbridge. The role involves 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs and working within an inclusive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will have experience with ASC/ADHD/SEMH, strong behaviour management, and a calm, proactive demeanor. DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children in a school setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Willingness to obtain or hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
  • Build a trusting, consistent relationship with the assigned pupil.
  • Act as a positive role model with calm, patient support.
  • Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and related behavioural needs.
  • Deliver personalised interventions and follow EHCP targets.
  • Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Support learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.

Full‑time, immediate and September 2026 starts available at a mainstream primary school in Redbridge.

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Redbridge is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs. The school seeks a confident, resilient, and patient individual who can build strong relationships, provide consistent support, and become a positive role model both inside and outside the classroom.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for candidates with experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural needs who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
  • Build a trusting and consistent relationship with your assigned pupil.

  • Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and associated behavioural needs.

About You
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience supporting children within a school.
  • Experience working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model.
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Candidates with experience in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, behaviour support, youth offending services, or alternative provisions are also encouraged to apply.
