Job summary

Desian Education is supporting a highly regarded single-form entry primary school in Runcorn. They are seeking an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Reception class on a full-time, long-term temporary basis.

You will work closely with the Reception class teacher to support learning, communication and early literacy, with a focus on phonics using Read Write Inc. You’ll also provide SEN support and assist with transitions to KS1 in a nurturing EYFS team.

Qualifications

• Must be Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant.
• Experience in early years, particularly Reception.
• Good SEN experience and ability to differentiate learning.
• Ability to deliver phonics sessions using RWI.

Responsibilities

• Support the Reception class with day-to-day teaching and learning.
• Lead phonics sessions using Read Write Inc. (RWI).
• Deliver targeted small-group and 1:1 phonics interventions.
• Support pupils to develop communication and early literacy skills.
• Monitor progress and help pupils reach key milestones.
• Support pupils' transition into KS1.
• Provide tailored SEN support.
• Build pupils' confidence, independence and engagement.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and EYFS team.
• Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

Desian Education are proud to be supporting a highly regarded single-form entry primary school in Runcorn, situated at the heart of its local community. The school are looking to appoint an experienced and Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class on a full-time, long-term temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an experienced and supportive EYFS team within a school that is held in high regard across the local authority. Subject to funding, the position is expected to continue into the new academic year, providing excellent continuity for the successful candidate. Your New Role: Working closely with the Reception class teacher, you will play an important role in supporting pupils' learning, engagement and development, helping to ensure every child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential. You will build strong, positive relationships with pupils and use a range of engaging resources and child-centred approaches to support their individual learning needs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Reception class with day-to-day teaching and learning.
• Leading phonics sessions using the Read Write Inc. (RWI) scheme.
• Delivering targeted small-group and 1:1 phonics interventions.
• Supporting pupils to develop their communication and early literacy skills.
