Job summary

Grounds Maintenance Operative role in Whitehaven, Cumbria. Start date immediate. Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00. Join The Best Connection Group Limited's busy team and contribute to site upkeep and outdoor maintenance.

You will be responsible for signs, benches, grassed areas, flower beds, litter removal and basic repairs. Training is provided; a driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or groundskeeping is preferred, but training is provided.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:00.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain signs and benches to keep areas presentable and safe.
• Mow and care for grassed areas to keep outdoor spaces tidy.
• Plant flowers and maintain landscaped areas to enhance the environment.
• Remove litter and fly tipping to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with general repairs and upkeep as required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Cleaning and maintaining signs and benches to ensure they remain presentable and safe
• Mowing and caring for grassed areas to keep outdoor spaces tidy and welcoming
• Planting flowers and maintaining landscaped areas to enhance the environment
• Removing fly tipping and other litter to maintain cleanliness and safety
• Maintaining hedges and grass areas
• Assisting with general repairs and upkeep as required

What We're Looking For

• Some experience in maintenance or groundskeeping is preferred, but candidates with limited experience will also be considered and given full training
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Driving license required
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
• £13.08 per hour
