Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting for a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician at a leading main dealership in Torquay, Devon. Work in a state-of-the-art workshop using advanced diagnostic equipment to diagnose, repair, and service modern vehicles while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers a competitive basic salary up to £40,000 with uncapped OTE around £48,000, a flexible Mon-Fri pattern with Saturday mornings on a rota, and ongoing training to stay ahead in automotive

Qualifications

• Master Technician or Diagnostic certification preferred but not essential.
• Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
• Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Leadership qualities and willingness to mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Perform routine servicing and maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Stay current with developments in automotive technology, including hybrids and EVs.
• Provide clear repair explanations and estimates to customers.
• Uphold high quality and safety standards in all work.
• Mentor and support junior technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Duties of a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic equipment

Requirements of a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:

• Relevant Vehicle Technician certification, such as Master Technician or Diagnostic certification, preferred but not essential
• Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems including hybrid, electric, and safety features
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Leadership qualities and willingness to support team development
• Valid UK driving licence
