Job summary

Rosedene Nurseries Ltd in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, is seeking a caring nursery practitioner. You will supervise children, plan engaging activities, and promote hygiene and safety. Build strong relationships with families and work with a supportive team to deliver quality early years education.

The role offers part-time and full-time positions with development opportunities, funded training, and a commitment to wellbeing and professional growth within our award-winning nursery group.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the nursery environment including meals, rest periods and personal care.
• Create engaging activities tailored to children's needs and interests.
• Promote good hygiene and safety practices across the setting.
• Build trusting relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families.
• Support team members and model positive behaviours for development.
• Lead the room in the absence of the room leader and attend relevant trainings.
• Monitor and record accidents and ensure nursery policies are followed.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising children within the nursery environment, including mealtimes, rest periods and nappy changing/toileting
• Creating fun and engaging activities to suit the needs of the children
• Promote good hygiene practices
• Building solid, caring relationships with parents/carers, families, professionals and your team
• Keeping accurate records and communicating with parents/carers
• Supporting your team members and being a positive role model, who looks to develop and suggest positive changes
• Leading the room in the absence of the room leader
• Attend staff meetings or any training courses that will help enhance your personal and professional development
• Monitor and record all accidents
• Adhering to and implement all nursery procedures and policies

What we're looking for

Essential

• Full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework
• Good knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
• A genuine passion for supporting young children's development
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Desirable

• Previous nursery nurse experience
• Interest in outdoor learning and child-led learning approaches
• Confidence building relationships with families and professionals

Working Hours

Part time and full-time positions available working Monday to Friday.
