Job summary

Rosedene Nurseries LTD in the North of England is seeking a dedicated nursery practitioner to support our high-quality early years experiences and nurture a kind, curious and confident mindset in children.

You will supervise daily routines, lead engaging activities, uphold safeguarding and nursery procedures, build strong relationships with families and colleagues, and contribute to our excellent team culture.

Qualifications

  • Holds a full and relevant level 2/3 Early Years qualification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding duties, nursery procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of birth to 5 development and EYFS curriculum.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising children within the nursery environment during meals, rest periods and nappies/toileting.
  • Creating fun and engaging activities to suit children's needs.
  • Promoting good hygiene practices.
  • Building solid, caring relationships with parents/carers, families and colleagues.
  • Keeping accurate records and communicating with parents/carers.
  • Supporting team members and acting as a positive role model in the absence of the room leader.
  • Attending staff meetings and training to develop professionally.
  • Monitoring and recording all accidents.
  • Adhering to nursery procedures and policies.

About you
  • Hold a full and relevant level 2/3 Early Years Qualification
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding duties, nursery procedures and policies
  • Have good knowledge of birth to 5 development and the EYFS curriculum
  • Excellent practice within an early years setting
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge in Early Years and have full understanding of children’s emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs
  • A positive attitude with an unwavering commitment to service excellence to allow us to maintain our high standards
  • Be able to work as a team
  • Have a professional attitude and manner
What you’ll be doing
  • Supervising children within the nursery environment, including mealtimes, rest periods and nappy changing/toileting
  • Creating fun and engaging activities to suit the needs of the children

  • Keeping accurate records and communicating with parents/carers
  • Supporting your team members and being a positive role model, who looks to develop and suggest positive changes
  • Leading the room in the absence of the room leader
  • Attend staff meetings or any training courses that will help enhance your personal and professional development
  • Monitor and record all accidents
  • Adhering to and implement all nursery procedures and policies
