EQUANS is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will handle reactive maintenance, respond to BMS alerts, and support nightshift operations while progressing competencies as a Competent Person and Authorized Person. Key duties include fault finding on complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with standards, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical engineering within a hospital or critical environment.
• Familiarity with low voltage electrical systems and general building services.
• Ability to obtain Competent Person and Authorized Person status after training.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive jobs to diagnose faults and repair complex electrical systems.
• Respond to BMS alerts during nightshift and coordinate with Helpdesk/teams.
• Record and hand over documentation to appropriate teams for continuity.
• Obtain Competent Person status following training for LV systems and related installations.
• Perform duties of Authorized Person after appropriate training and familiarisation.
• Maintain systems including emergency lighting, nurse calls, general electrics, fire alarms.

On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.What will you deliver?Undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to complete diagnostic, fault finding and repair to complex mechanical systems in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidanceRespond to BMS alerts and phone calls during nightshift, acting as the initial point of contact. Assess the nature of the issue, allocate the task to the appropriate team member, and complete the necessary documentation.
