Job description

Here at Aspris, we are proud to be a leading provider of specialist education services with over 30 schools nationwide. We are recruiting for a qualified Maths Teacher to join us at Aspris Ridgeway School, our specialist autism school for pupils aged 7-16. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing school and play a key role in shaping provision for autistic pupils.

At Aspris Ridgeway School, we are creating a place where everyone wants to be every day. Through safe, ambitious and personalised education, we support autistic pupils to develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning. We take a neuro-affirming approach that values every pupil as an individual and prepares them for success in education, adulthood and life beyond school.

What does Aspris Ridgeway look like?
  • A specialist autism school providing personalised education for pupils aged 7-16.
  • A welcoming school environment with clearly defined specialist teaching and therapy spaces, staffed and resourced to meet individual needs.
  • A school with strong leadership, governance and ambitious plans for growth.
  • A provider of opportunities that enable pupils to re-engage with learning and make strong progress from their individual starting points.
  • A provider of a highly personalised curriculum focused on academic achievement, individual EHCP outcomes and preparation for adulthood.
  • A school guided by the values of Confidence, Courage, Compassion and Community.
Our benefits include:
  • Exclusive access to reward and discount scheme
  • Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression
  • Paid for enhanced PVG/DBS
  • Cycle to work scheme and more!
About you
  • You will be a key member of our education support team, working as part of a specialist team of Teachers and Therapists to deliver a specialist curriculum that motivates and inspires our students.
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or carer would be beneficial, but as long as you have the communication skills and passion required for this role and a willingness to learn, we will give you all the training and development you need to succeed.
  • Whilst not essential, experience of supporting children with autism and complex needs would be an advantage.
  • Successful candidates, through the support of IT resources will contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of children and young people.
  • Being flexible in approach, emotionally available and resilient is an important characteristic for this role.
  • Ideally you would have experience in problem solving, have basic PC and iPad confidence, ability to communicate effectively via email and prioritise tasks.

At Aspris Children's Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. If you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress.

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
