Job summary

Aspris is recruiting a Headteacher to lead a new school for autistic children aged 7–16 in Huntingdon. You will shape the curriculum, establish an inclusive culture and drive excellent learning outcomes with support from the Chief Operating Officer and Regional Director.

You will oversee safeguarding, curriculum development and school improvement while building strong partnerships with families and external professionals to ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and EHCP targets.

We are recruiting for a Headteacher to join us in opening a new school for autistic children and young people. Working with the close support of our Chief Operating Officer and our Regional Director, we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and talented Headteacher; someone with the commitment and strategic vision to build a school which can achieve the very best for our young people.

We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder, with the knowledge of how to inspire exceptional performance and maintain a positive and enthusiastic learning environment for pupils and colleagues alike. You will create and lead the vision of the curriculum and education programmes, creating an inclusive culture in line with the Aspris values.

Our new school is a purpose-built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders. The vision of the school is to accommodate up to 55 young people between the ages of 7 to 16 with Autism. In groups of no more than 5 and with specialist teachers and support teams the school will ensure pupils will receive a high quality education and work together to meet the outcomes as set out in the pupil’s EHCP. The school will benefit from specialist classroom spaces along with sensory spaces and a large outdoor area offering pupils the chance to flourish during their time at the school.

The Headteacher will provide strong, strategic leadership for our new school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for pupils with special educational needs. The role includes building, leading and developing teams, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, and ensuring pupils achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. The Headteacher will oversee safeguarding, curriculum development, and school improvement, while building strong partnerships with families, external professionals, and the wider community. The successful candidate will ensure the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, including those set by Ofsted, and will champion opportunities that support pupils’ independence and preparation for adulthood.
