Job summary

Sovereign Network Group is seeking a on-site Temporary Accommodation Officer to work in our 6-bedroom project in Shaftesbury. This full-time, permanent role focuses on providing proactive housing management for residents and helping them move to more secure accommodation.

You will support residents with income/benefits, rent accounts, tenancy issues, and health and safety checks, conducting regular scheme inspections and coordinating with partner agencies to resolve barriers to housing options.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in housing, homelessness services, or care settings.
• Knowledge of tenancy management is preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build trust.
• Understanding of welfare benefits and financial inclusion support.
• Ability to work with external agencies and partner organisations.
• Able to work as part of a housing team and independently.

Responsibilities

Job description

This is a full-time permanent role working in our temporary homeless accommodation schemes principally based at our 6 bedroom Temporary Accommodation project in Shaftesbury. You'll need to be able to work on site every day to provide support for our residents. The role: Our Temporary Accommodation Officers provide an enhanced, proactive housing management service for customers in our temporary homeless accommodation. As a Temporary Accommodation Officer you'll help our residents overcome barriers and prepare for more secure accommodation. This may include assistance with income and benefits, personal housing plans, rent accounts and resolving tenancy issues and other barriers to seeking permanent accommodation. You'll also be responsible for carrying out regular scheme inspections and undertaking health and safety tests.

• Experience of working in a similar role. This could be a supported housing, social housing, homelessness services or a care setting.
• A good knowledge of tenancy management would be preferred but not essential at appointment, resident support and safeguarding
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
• A knowledge of welfare benefits and financial inclusion support
• The ability to work collaboratively with our partner organisation and external agencies
• The ability to work as part of a wider housing team whilst also operating independently.
