Job summary

CareTech is seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Oldhurst service, supporting the delivery of outstanding, person-centred care in line with CQC standards. You will lead a dedicated team, oversee daily living support, manage rotas including evenings and weekends, and ensure accurate records and effective safeguarding.

The role requires resilience, strong communication, and a commitment to empowering service users while providing clear career progression and training

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 3 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
• Supervise a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can

Oldhurst to assist in leading our dedicated team and ensure the continued delivery of outstanding care in line with CQC and regulatory standards.

About the Service – Oaktrees

Rated GOOD by CQC, Oaktrees supports 6 male Service Users who have a diagnosis of autism. The Service Users are very active and involved in many community activities; including singing in the village choir! They also enjoy attending their local pub, trips out to the zoo, the local shops as well as BBQs and picnics. The friendly and long standing staff members, to include the manager who has been in situ for over 20 years’, are excellent at empowering the Service Users to enable them to become more independent – all are very pro-active in making decisions within the home, ensuring a person centered approach.

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to assist in leading our dedicated team and ensure the continued delivery of outstanding care in line with CQC and regulatory standards.

The Role

You will:

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
