Job summary

CareTech is recruiting for a Support Worker at Huntsman Lodge, a Supported Living service for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder. The role involves delivering person-centred support, assisting with daily living skills and personal care, and promoting independence within a caring team.

You will work a rota including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, with DBS screening provided.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Health & Social qualification
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities
• Caring, patient and respectful with a positive and resilient approach

Job description

Permanent | Full time Contract | 37.5 hours per week

About the Service – Huntsman Lodge

Huntsman Lodge is a Supported Living service which provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music.,

There is easy access to public transport and it is close to local shops.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
