Job summary

Housing 21 is seeking an Assistant Local Housing Manager for Brooks Taylor Court in Oxford. You will support the Local Housing Manager in delivering a high‑quality housing and support service to residents and deputise on court life and community relations.

The role focuses on tenancy sustainment and resident wellbeing, working with residents to enable independent living while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent standard of reading, writing and numeracy
  • Experience in the social housing sector, especially with older people (desirable)
  • Knowledge of issues affecting older people or vulnerable groups (desirable)
  • CIH Level 3 or 4 (desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Local Housing Manager and manage court life and community relations
  • Support residents to live independently, focusing on tenancy sustainment and wellbeing
  • Ensure building safety, engage with residents and the local community, and address local issues
  • Assist residents to reach consensus on home-related matters

Assistant Local Housing Manager - Brooks Taylor Court

Shift Pattern:6.5 hours to be worked on a Friday only

The Local Housing Manager team is at the very heart of a Housing 21 Retirement Living scheme. This customer-facing role supports the Local Housing Manager in providing a professional, high quality and effective housing and support service to residents.

The Assistant Local Housing Manager assists and deputises for the Local Housing Manager in being responsible for all aspects of court life and relationships with the local community.

The role is diverse, and no two days are the same. Our Assistant Local Housing Managers support all residents to enable them to live independently in their own homes, with a focus on tenancy sustainment, support and resident wellbeing. They work with the Local Housing Manager to ensure the building is safe and secure, engage actively with residents and the local community, and assist residents to reach consensus about local issues affecting their homes.

What we’re looking for:
  • Excellent standard of reading, writing and numeracy
  • Experience of working in the social housing sector, particularly with a focus on older people (desirable)
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the issues faced by older people or other vulnerable groups in particular Dementia, drug & alcohol use and mental health (desirable)
  • CIH Level 3 or 4 (desirable)
