Job summary

Housing 21 is seeking an Assistant Local Housing Manager to support a Retirement Living scheme in Crewe. The role focuses on tenancy sustainment, resident wellbeing and community engagement, with the Local Housing Manager providing leadership.

The role includes working across housing and support services, ensuring safety and building maintenance, and liaising with residents to resolve local issues affecting their homes.

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing and numeracy skills.
• Experience in social housing, especially with older people (desirable).
• Knowledge of issues affecting older people or other vulnerable groups (desirable).
• CIH Level 3 or 4 (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support Local Housing Manager to provide housing and support services to residents.
• Assist residents to live independently and sustain tenancies.
• Help ensure buildings are safe and secure and engage with residents.
• Work with the Local Housing Manager to address local issues affecting homes and community.

Job description

Hours: 16 hours per week. The Local Housing Manager team is at the very heart of a Housing 21 Retirement Living scheme. This customer-facing role supports the Local Housing Manager in providing a professional, high quality and effective housing and support service to residents. The Assistant Local Housing Manager assists and deputises for the Local Housing Manager in being responsible for all aspects of court life and relationships with the local community. The role is diverse, and no two days are the same. Our Assistant Local Housing Managers support all residents to enable them to live independently in their own homes, with a focus on tenancy sustainment, support and resident wellbeing. They work with the Local Housing Manager to ensure the building is safe and secure, engage actively with residents and the local community, and assist residents to reach consensus about local issues affecting their homes.

What we're looking for

• Excellent standard of reading, writing and numeracy
• Experience of working in the social housing sector, particularly with a focus on older people (desirable)
• Knowledge and/or experience of the issues faced by older people or other vulnerable groups in particular Dementia, drug & alcohol use and mental health (desirable)
• CIH Level 3 or 4 (desirable)
