Job summary

Machine Mart are seeking a Temporary Part-time Retail Sales Assistant in Leeds to join a small team of 4–6 staff. You’ll help customers, explain technical equipment clearly and build rapport, while working up to 27 hours per week.

You’ll need a background in selling technical products and experience in retail customer service, with numeracy and basic computer skills. The role offers staff discounts, pension and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in selling technical products to customers.
• Experience in a retail customer service orientated environment.
• Experience in dealing with customers.
• Practical knowledge of some or all of our product range.
• Strong accuracy and numeracy skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a great customer experience and assist shoppers on the shop floor.
• Explain technical equipment in an understandable manner to customers.
• Work as part of a small team to meet sales targets.
• Keep accurate records of sales and customer interactions.
• Assist with stock checks and merchandising as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sales area.
• Support colleagues to ensure smooth store operations.

Temporary Part-time Retail Sales Assistant

• You’ll be joining a small team of between 4 – 6 members of staff
• You’ll be committed to delivering a great customer experience
• You’ll be working up to 27 hours per week - any extra time worked beyond your contracted hours is paid or can be taken as time off in lieu
• You’ll be explaining technical equipment in an understandable manner
• You’ll be committed to offering honest advice and building a rapport with customers
• You’ll ensure that you exceed our customers’ expectations and reassure them when they're bewildered by choice
• You’ll be working hard as part of the team in achieving challenging sales targets

What you’ll need - skills and experience:

• You’ll have previous experience in selling technical products to customers
• You’ll have experience in a retail customer service orientated environment
• You’ll have previous experience in dealing with customers
• You’ll have practical experience / knowledge of some or all of our product range
• You’ll possess strong accuracy and numeracy skills
• You’ll possess basic computer literacy
• You’ll be self motivated and have a can-do attitude
