Summary

We are looking for a supportive and motivated Registered Manager to join one of our mental health teams in Essex. This role is all about making a real difference to people's lives.

As a Registered Manager, you will:

Lead care teams for 7 people with mental health challenges in one of our registered locations. Your job is to make sure everyone gets the support they need to live a good life, and that the location meets all the rules set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the organizations funding people's support, and Choice Support's policies and procedures.

Work with Deputy Registered Managers, Team Managers and staff teams to ensure that the care provided is the best possible and always improving to support the life that they choose.

Make sure services you are responsible for meet all CQC standards and requirements, ensuring everything safe and compliant. Taking the lead when preparing for inspections, and ensure where improvements are needed, action is taken.

Make sure support is up to date and helps them live the life they choose. Encourage independence, support people to stay connected with their family, and help them work towards their goals. You will also ensure support with health, medication and finances is safe, while building strong, trusting relationships with families and professionals. Ensuring that all decisions are made in line with the Mental Capacity Act.

With the support of the Deputy Registered Manager and Team Manager, help build a supportive team culture where everyone feels valued.

Support the Deputy Team Manager to develop the skills and confidence needed to step into your role during your absence, by providing training and regular feedback.

Monitor recruitment, inductions and staffing to ensure services are safe.

Ensure the services remain safe and financially sustainable by ensuring rotas reflect support funding, with support driven by assessed needs. Monitor budgets and liaise with the finance team to ensure the correct income is received and staff and non‑staff costs are within the agreed budget.

Be the point of contact for internal and external contacts, providing information and hosting visits or assessments when requested so others can carry out their roles.

Ensure records are accurate, person‑centred, and that any events are recorded, investigated, escalated where needed, triaged, and resolved in a timely way.

Be a safeguarding lead and make sure everyone is safe.
