Job summary

Hertsmere Borough Council is recruiting a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our street enforcement team. You will patrol streets and car parks, enforce parking restrictions and respond to inquiries from the public, helping keep roads safe and orderly.

You will also check parking machines and equipment, use computerised systems, and follow legal requirements relevant to the role. This outdoor role requires diplomacy and the ability to communicate clearly with residents and visitors.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our existing team, covering Hertsmere Borough Council and Three Rivers District Council.

You will be required to patrol the streets and car parks and to carry out enforcement against illegally parked vehicles. You will also provide advice to members of the public and check that parking machines and equipment are in good working order.

The successful applicant will enjoy working outside and will be someone who can deal with members of the public in a helpful and diplomatic manner. You will need to use computerised equipment and personal safety equipment and gain an understanding of the legal requirements of the job.
