Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a receptionist to manage a busy reception, greet patients and visitors, and coordinate with services and external organisations. The role covers face-to-face and telephone contacts in a busy NHS environment.
You will provide a friendly, professional service, handle clerical tasks such as mail, banking, stationery, and ensure waiting areas remain clean and welcoming. Experience in healthcare reception is desirable.
Responsible for a busy reception area, liaising with members of the general public, services and departments and external organisations, both face to face and over the phone.
Provide an effective reception service using verbal and written communication to liaise with patients, relatives, staff and external agencies to support the delivery of an efficient patient service. Ensuring all patients are booked into appointments correctly and directing them appropriately on arrival. Provide administrative support around waiting list for Podiatry patients as advised by the Podiatry team e.g registering new patients, appointment cancellation, and re-arrangement
Answer patient queries and signpost to appropriate local services.· Contact EMAS on the non pick-up of patients · Report and escalate site maintenance issues. · Support an efficient room booking service, ensuring rooms are not double booked · Printing/Photocopying· Maintain site emergency equipment as per Policy· When on duty to act as a Fire Warden· To provide cover for colleagues’ absence at base and other sites within the area.
