Job summary

Diocese of Chelmsford is seeking a part-time maintenance assistant for 12 hours per week in Greater London. The role involves plumbing and general repairs, garden care, and adherence to safety policies.

Training opportunities are available, along with a hybrid and flexible working arrangement. Salary is £30,784 per annum pro rata, with actual salary £10,554.51 for 12 hours per week, and a 11% pension scheme offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in general repairs and maintenance.
• Experience of painting and decorating.
• Experience of basic plumbing, carpentry, or similar maintenance work.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain plumbing and non-electrical fixtures and fittings, including repairing faults.
• General garden care including mowing the lawn, trimming hedges and bushes.
• Adhere to the Centre's Health & Safety policies, ensuring fire exits are kept clear and reporting concerns.
• Be competent at using a wide range of standard hand and power tools and keep tools in good working order.

ROLE DUTIES

• Service and maintain plumbing and non-electrical fixtures and fittings, including repairing faults
• General garden care including but not limited to; mowing the lawn, trimming hedges and bushes and anything else deemed necessary
• Adhere to the Centre's Health & Safety policies, ensuring fire exits are kept shut and clear and reporting any concerns where necessary.
• Be competent at using a wide range of standard hand and power tools to perform the job as required and to ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order, clean and stored correctly

CRITERIA

• Experienced and competent in carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks
• Experience of painting and decorating.
• Experience of basic plumbing, carpentry, or similar maintenance work.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training
