Job summary

Island Court Care Home, located at 55 Bourne St, Coseley, Bilston, West Midlands, is recruiting a Maintenance Person for a full-time role. The position involves providing general maintenance and caretaking to keep the home and grounds well maintained, with tasks ranging from decorating and carpet laying to light bulb changes and fire alarm checks.

Ideal candidates will have strong maintenance skills, good IT abilities (including use of iPads and apps), and a solid understanding of Health &

Qualifications

• Good level of skills and experience in carrying out general maintenance
• Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and knowledge (including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment)
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
• Strong organisation and planning skills
• Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• A flexible approach to working hours
• Full and clean driving license

Responsibilities

• Provide general maintenance and caretaking to keep the home and grounds well maintained.
• Redevelop rooms, lay carpets, and perform decorating tasks as required.
• Perform light bulb changes and routine maintenance checks.
• Carry out fire alarm checks and safety inspections as part of routine duties.
• Work as part of a team to create a happy and caring atmosphere.

Location:Island Court Care Home, 55 Bourne St, Coseley, Bilston, West Midlands, WV14 9HN

Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week

The Role

As a Maintenance Person, you will be providing a general maintenance and caretaking service to ensure the home and grounds (including gardens where required) are well maintained as required, and working together as a team to create a happy and caring atmosphere.

Whether you are redecorating a room ready for a new resident to move in, laying a new carpet, chatting to a resident as you change their light bulb, or carrying out a fire alarm check you will do so with care at the heart of everything you do.
