Job summary

The Diocese of Chelmsford is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to service and maintain plumbing and other repairs at the Centre in Greater London.

You will perform garden care, use tools, and follow Health & Safety policies, with opportunities for training. Hybrid/flexible working and a 11% pension scheme are available.

Qualifications

• General repairs and maintenance experience
• Painting and decorating experience
• Basic plumbing or carpentry experience
• Willingness to undertake relevant training

Job description

Service and maintain plumbing and non-electrical fixtures and fittings, including repairing faults

• General garden care including but not limited to; mowing the lawn, trimming hedges and bushes and anything else deemed necessary
• Adhere to the Centre's Health & Safety policies, ensuring fire exits are kept shut and clear and reporting any concerns where necessary.
• Be competent at using a wide range of standard hand and power tools to perform the job as required and to ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order, clean and stored correctly
• Experienced and competent in carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks
• Experience of painting and decorating.
• Experience of basic plumbing, carpentry, or similar maintenance work.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training

Working hours: This is a part-time role, 12 hours per week

Salary: £30,784 per annum pro rata. Actual salary £10,554.51 for 12 hours per week
