We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Driver Operative (7.5 Tonne) to join our Civils team, supporting projects across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where no two days are the same, combining driving responsibilities with hands‑on site support to help deliver essential infrastructure works.

Vacancy Introduction

As a Driver Operative, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient delivery of civils works by transporting materials, equipment and waste between sites while supporting operational activities on‑site. Working closely with Supervisors, Gangers and site teams, you will help maintain safe, organised and compliant working environments, assist with excavation and utility‑related activities, and ensure vehicles and equipment are operated and maintained to the highest standards. The role also includes participation in a call‑out rota to support emergency and out‑of‑hours operational requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Experience driving and operating commercial vehicles, including 7.5 tonne tippers.
• Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• A strong focus on health and safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Groundworks, utilities or civils experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• NRSWA, NPORS Vehicle Marshal, Emergency First Aid or Manual Handling certifications are desirable.
