Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie in Dawlish to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift. You will drive a red Royal Mail van and walk routes, building relationships with customers.

The role is physically demanding but rewarding; full training provided, uniform, and benefits including pension, wellbeing support, and discounts. You will work 37 hours across 5 days in 7, with some Sundays at Exeter Mail Centre.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract, 10 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 37hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday

• - Sunday –07:15/21:00

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work one in two Sundays at Exeter Mail Centre.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• - A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• - Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• - Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• - Reliable and self-motivated
• - Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• - Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• - Comfortable working outdoors and independently
