Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Honiton requires a Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will sort letters and parcels, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers in the local area.

You'll work a rotating schedule, including weekends, with one in four Sundays at Exeter rural office. The role is outdoors, physical, and requires a full manual UK driving licence and the ability to pass a driving assessment.

Location: Honiton Delivery Office, EX14 1PA

Job type: Fixed Termcontract, 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:15/18:30* Supporting two separate shifts, either 07:15 - 15:00 Letter Deliveries or 10:45 - 18:30 Parcel Deliveries

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
