Job summary

Scope’s Dartford shop is seeking a Shop Manager to lead a team of paid colleagues and volunteers. You will run the shop with creativity and flair, ensuring an inclusive customer and donor experience while growing sales.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, on-site at 26 High Street, Dartford. You will recruit, manage and develop staff and volunteers, align with Scope’s policies, and work closely with the Assistant Shop Manager to optimise shop performance and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in a management context.
• Leadership and people management skills.
• Experience coordinating volunteers and paid staff.

Responsibilities

• Maximise shop sales performance and explore ways to improve shop performance.
• Oversee stock collection, processing, and online listing; support online selling.
• Recruit, manage and develop paid colleagues and volunteers within Scope’s policies.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Shop Manager to run the shop effectively.

As Shop Manager of Scope’s Dartford shop, you’ll have the autonomy to run the shop with creativity and flair. Every day is different

In this role, you’ll lead a team of paid colleagues and volunteers, offering clear guidance, encouragement, and development. Using your experience and management skills, you’ll help grow sales while making sure every customer and donor enjoys a welcoming and inclusive shop experience. In this role you will:

• Ensure shop sales performance is maximised, actively seeking ways to improve the shop’s performance on a continuous basis.
• Manage all aspects of stock collection and preparation; ensuring that stock processing levels are sufficient to achieve required shop floor density, encouraging stock donations at all times. Also support our online selling with identifying suitable items and listing on online selling platforms
• Recruit, manage and develop paid colleagues and volunteers within Scope’s HR and operational policies and procedures and build a strong team
• Work collaboratively with the Assistant Shop Manager
