Coleg Gwent in Wales is seeking an Additional Support Assistant to help learners with additional learning needs access the curriculum. This part-time post is 16.5 hours per week during term time, with hours 9:00 to 16:30.
You will support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, working closely with curriculum and campus support teams. Applicants should have Level 2 with GCSEs including Maths and English and prior experience with young people who have difficulties or disabilities.
16.5 hours per week (Term Time) Must be available 9am - 4.30 pm We wish to appoint an inspiring Additional Support Assistant to help learners with additional learning needs to access the curriculum at Coleg Gwent. Applicants should have previous experience of working with young people who have difficulties and/or disabilities and be educated to Level 2 standard with four GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above. The successful candidates will be required to support learners on a 1:1 basis, including providing personal care when needed, as well as work with learners on a group basis, working closely with the curriculum and campus support teams to ensure the learners meet their full potential. The ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable.
