Job summary

Coleg Gwent in Newport is seeking an inspiring Additional Support Assistant to help learners with additional learning needs access the curriculum, including 1:1 support and group work.

The role requires Level 2 with four GCSEs including Maths and English at C or above, experience with young people with difficulties or disabilities, and readiness for DBS check and EWC registration; Welsh language ability desirable.

Qualifications

• Level 2 with four GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above.
• Experience of working with learners who have difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Must be willing to undertake training; basic Welsh desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration.

Responsibilities

• Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in group settings.
• Provide personal care when needed and work with campus support teams.
• Help learners access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
