Job summary

The National Autistic Society is seeking a caring and reliable Support Worker to help adults live their best lives at Melbourne Drive in East Anglia. You will follow individual support plans and daily routines across four supported living homes, with a flexible 40-hour/week schedule including evenings and weekends.

Experience with autism is helpful but not essential; driving licence is required, and safeguarding checks apply. This role offers comprehensive staff benefits and training.

About the Service

East Anglia community services supports 10 adults (male and female) in 4 separate supported living homes that range from 3 adults living together to a single person service. These services are located in Mildenhall, Kenny Hill and Beck Row in Suffolk.

The services promote independence and are person centred services.

The adults that live in these services regularly access the community and they all have the own vehicles. The adults we support are supported with medication and personal care depending on their level of support needs.

About the Role

We are looking for a caring and reliable Support Worker. Your role is to help people live their best lives by following their support plans and daily routines. We currently have an occupational requirement for

female only applicants for this position as the support package involves female personal care.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating)
  • Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts)
What We’re Looking For
  • For you to inspire others with a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable people
  • Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential
  • Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome

This advert is for a full-time position at 40 hours per week

Your working pattern in this role will require flexibility to meet the needs of the people supported and their families and will include evening and weekend working.

Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) isessential
