Job summary

The National Autistic Society in Burnham-on-Sea is seeking a Bank Support Worker for Park View to help autistic adults live more independently by following individual support plans and daily routines.

You will assist with personal care, encourage activities, and support life skills such as budgeting, shopping and meal preparation, with shifts including evenings and weekends. Driving licence is preferred.

About the Service

Park View is a residential service in Burnham on Sea for four autistic adults, there is a self-contained flat within the home and the main house will be shared between 3 individuals when the home is fully occupied.

It provides an ideal environment for autistic people and with the help of our fully-trained and experienced staff we can enable individuals to acquire skills to live more independently.

About the Role

We are looking for caring and reliable Bank Support Workers.

Your role is to help people live their best lives by following their support plans and daily routines.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating)
  • Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts)
  • Support life skills& independence(budgeting, shopping, meal preparation)
What We’re Looking For
  • For you to inspire others with a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable people
  • Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential
  • Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome
  • You will be able to pick and choose the shifts that you work, and services have a mixture of hours that can include evenings and weekends.
  • Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) is preferred.
